About Andrey Solo (& Mercy)

I was born deaf and received my hearing at age six after three intensive surgeries. I see that season of my life as a blessing in disguise. God used it to sharpen my visual instincts long before I understood what He was preparing me for. I did not recognize that I could not hear. I simply perceived the world differently than most people.

I grew up in a strong Christian family, but I found Christ personally through my own battles, including surviving stage 4 colon cancer at age sixteen. Along the way, I discovered a gift for visual storytelling that brought youth together in our church communities in the early 2000s and eventually earned recognition across countries in Christian circles.

God opened doors for me in unexpected places. I had opportunities to document political events from the DNC for President Obama’s re election to later contributing to Kamala Harris’s 2020 campaign, and also serving conservative leaders. I have never tied myself to politics. I have always aimed to walk where Jesus walks, without judgment. Over and over, I find God placing me among people who are lost or searching, and I see that as an opportunity to serve them as I serve Him.

My creative journey came with its own set of challenges. There were many opportunities to enter Hollywood with promises of guaranteed success, but God gave me discernment. I could see the emptiness and destruction behind the scenes, and I knew that was not the path for me, even though I love filmmaking deeply. I prayed for years asking God to open another door.

And in God’s humor, He did. Two days after I married my wife, Mercy, in India, I was pulled into filming a wedding. It was something I always said I would never do. But that day, God made His answer clear. Mercy and I stepped out in faith in late 2013, and within months, God blessed us with opportunities to serve prominent figures, starting with Roman Harper from the Carolina Panthers and eventually many more clients from the NFL and NBA. If I listed them all, it would fill a page.

Even though we reached the top of the wedding industry, something in me knew the success was not the point. These figures were simply people, human like us, and the more the wedding world became focused on competition instead of God’s design for marriage, the more empty it felt. So after ten full years, we retired in 2023. My only true celebrity has always been Jesus Christ.

My mission has never changed. I want to serve God, glorify Him through the gifts He placed in me, and shine light where the world pushes darkness.

Today, Mercy and I feel called to serve God more closely and become part of a larger family that is making a real difference. We support an orphanage of almost three hundred children in Manipur, along with widows, family members facing health challenges, and orphans in our extended circle. But we know our calling is bigger than financial support alone.

God blessed me with a visual gift, and now I am seeking the new path He has prepared for us, one where our testimony, creativity, and heart for people can serve His kingdom in a deeper and more meaningful way.
